International women’s day! Celebrating the ‘overlooked’ but all important group of women! The impoverished Widows in our communities. These women have not only lost their husbands, they have also lost their voices. Some of them had their late husbands properties forcibly taken away from them in the wake of losing their husbands. They
struggle on a daily basis to put food on their various tables. A lot of times, these struggles yield no fruit, their children go without food!.They struggle to send their children to school. Oftentimes, this becomes impossible feats. They borrow money to pay hospital bills for their sick children and end up being enslaved to their lenders. Yet, the the only time they raise their voices is either to cry out their frustrations or to praise God! They have no voice to speak about the humiliation, the hurt, the injustice that they face. These are the real women.
These are the courageous women. These are the real women of substance. These are the women that deserve to be celebrated. Happy International Women’s day to you, the downtrodden women who have lost their husbands to the cold arms of death, the impoverished Widows! Joyfulwidows foundation.
Not until you have an encounter with an indigent desperate widow, you won’t understand what Joyful widow foundation is doing in touching people’s lives. Recognizing and identifying with them, pulling them out of the pit of desperation is already a lot.
I wish to thank all the members of joyful widow foundation especially the founder, Ozulu umu ogbenye. She has also been extending her philanthropy to us retirees. I am a part taker of Joyful widow foundation benevolence though, I am not a widow. Since she knew that I retired without my benefit yet, she has been supplying me with airtime and money for other things. You know how miserable one could be without airtime to communicate with the world. Infact, it is in her gene to put smiles on people’s faces. God will continue to bless her foundation and propel it forward in Jesus name Amen.
