Haba Anambra Schools!!!

Does this happen only in Anambra state or do other states experience this? As part of our commitment to our widows’ children, we have the Education Funds Scheme which provides full scholarships for eligible children.
What I have seen, especially as the school sessions draw to an end is that schools are asking students to pay what they call ‘Graduation support fees’. Graduation support fees? For who?

This is levied across every student regardless of whether or not they are in the graduating year. This ranges between ₦2,000 – ₦3,000. So we pay PTA yearly, we buy books, Novels, pay tuition, buy uniforms, sandals, etc. Then we have to pay for the school to organise a graduation ceremony? I can understand if they levy the graduating class but why levy every child? In my opinion, this is nothing but daylight extortion!!! It should be discontinued but because no one questions it, they have continued to levy sponsors/parents. We at Joyful Widows Foundation intend to question this especially as we run the organisation with publicly donated funds, we cannot afford to throw away public funds.
